WhY TiGerS ArE SaD ?

Tigers are sad because people have killed many of their friends & relatives. Tigers are now an endangered species; Today there are only about 5,000 to 7,400 tigers left in the world. These tigers would soon die if people do not stop hunting them. It is estimated that 100 years ago, there were 50,000 to 80,000 tigers in India alone. Three types of tigers, The Bali, Javan, and Caspian tigers have become extinct (not even one of them is left in this world.) in the past 70 years.

There are two reasons why tigers are endangered:

1) Habitat loss:

People cut forests where tigers live, to do farming, build houses & buildings. This leads to tiger becoming homeless and food less. Animals which the tiger eats also die when forests are cut. This leads to tigers becoming weak and ultimately they die.

2) Illegal Killing:

Tigers are killed to make rugs and coats out of their skins, and also because in many Asian cultures medicines made from tiger parts are believed to cure diseases. Tigers and many other endangered species are killed illegally for their skins and body parts. Products made from rare wild animals such as spotted cats, tigers, rhinos, and elephants are still sold illegally.

YoU HaVe FoRgOtTeN WhO YoU ArE AnD So FoRgoTtEn Me !!

If we want to save wild tigers, we will have to improve and expand on-the-ground conservation efforts that directly reduce threats to tigers and increase tiger and prey populations and improve their habitat. However, without controls on the demand for tiger parts, inordinate pressures are being placed on wild tigers. Even tiger reserves are not safe. That is sadly illustrated by the case of Sariska Tiger Reserve in India where, in 2005, poachers completely wiped out wild tigers. Thus our tiger conservation strategy must both improve and strengthen on-the-ground conservation and reduce the trafficking of tiger parts. We are tackling the approach using a two-pronged strategy: the first is to strengthen landscape-level conservation and the second is to stop the illegal trade in tiger parts.

Few things you can do to spread awareness about them :-

1.For one thing, don`t buy tiger products like tiger fur or teeth because people kill tigers to sell these products. Also, help protect the envirorment, because if we don`t stop hurting the environment, the only tigers left in the world would be in captivity. By not cutting trees of the forests and when we see people cutting trees we should stop them.

2.Volunteering Your Time for the Tiger

3.Report poaching and illegal traffic in tiger parts.

4.Write letters for safeguarding them.

5.Start a Tiger Club in your school.

6.Learn all you can about tigers, and teach others about the threats to tigers. Teaching people about the dangers tigers face is an important part of bringing about change.

7.Visit Tiger Reserves with your family to know more about tiger conservation.

Despite 20 years of international conservation efforts, we are losing ground to save the tiger as, on the endangered species list, all sub-species of tigers are considered critically endangered species.

Its high time, come forward and save them. !!

JuNgLe KiNg SeEkS YoUr HeLp !!

Tiger is a beautiful animal and it is also the sign of the forest's health. Saving the tiger means; saving its entire forest kingdom with the other entire natural world in it.

The tiger is the symbol for the protection of all species on our earth since it is at the top of the food chain. This is why we sometimes call the tiger, a zenith predator, and an indicator of our ecosystem's wellbeing.

Saving the tiger means we save the forest since tiger cannot live in places where trees have vanished and in turn secure food and water for all.

If we make sure tigers live, we have to make sure that deer, antelope and all other animals that the tiger eats (its prey base) live. To make sure that these herbivores live, we must make sure that all the trees, grass and other plants that these prey animals need for food are protected. In this way, the whole forest gets saved!

Also forests catch and help store rainwater and protect soils. In this way we protect our rivers and recharge groundwater sources. Areas with less trees lead to floods, killing people and destroying homes. It takes away the precious soil, leaving behind a wasteland. The soil jams up our lakes and dams, reducing their ability to store water.

Thus by destroying the tiger's home, we not only harm tigers, but also ourselves.
